Executive Functioning Screening Tool
Ever wonder the role that EF skills are playing in kids' difficulty reaching their goals? It’s an important part of development that’s often neglected.
This screening tool is designed to be used by pediatric therapists with parents to give clarity and a holistic view to all of a child’s needs. Therapists ask parents a series of questions, 5-7, for each executive functioning skill. Based on their responses therapists assign a score of 1-3 based on the frequency the skill is observed by the parents and/or therapist.
EF skills that are covered in this screening are attention, planning, organization, time management, working memory, emotional regulation, impulse control, flexibility, task initiation, perseverance, and self-awareness.
